Guest this week: Faded Prairie

I came across this wonderful shop, not long ago, and I fell in love immediately! I love all the vintage goods, and these are really beautiful, and breathtaking photos. I'm so happy to have Faded Prairie here as a guest in my blog for you today:

Tell us something about yourself
Hello everyone! My name is Kristin and I'm just a simple prairie girl who has a passion for What Once Was. I'm always on the hunt for anything faded, rusted, worn and forgotten to take home and love.

When you started your business?
I opened a brick and mortar store about three years ago in a little tourist town on the outskirts of my prairie. Soon after that I discovered Etsy and opened a store. I've always dreamed of having my own shop, I experienced a bump in life that made me realize that I don't want to go through life with regrets; I took the plunge and have never looked back.

What advice would you give to a new seller?
One of the most important things I think for a new seller would be to focus on their photographs, it is the only visual a buyer is going to have; make sure you capture their desire through your lens.

What are your favorite shops or blogs?
There are so many amazing shops and blogs out there now, some of my favorites are Old Crow Farm, Old Ohio Farm Finds, Tara's Vintage Kitchen and A Bushel and a Peck on etsy...Kasey {www.kaseybuick.com} is always good for a laugh and inspiration on her site Lola B's, Tracey {www.frenchlarkspur.blogspot.com} with French Larkspur has such a way with decorating you always come away inspired, and my good friend Tara {www.blondiensc.typepad.com} with Blondie N' SC can make you laugh, cry and rejoice all in one blog post, she truly has a way with words.

anything else you want to share with us
I am truly blessed to live and experience life the way I do. I am sixth generation on this little prairie and each day I am reminded of the sacrifice, love, and loss my ancestors went through in order to make it possible for me and my little ones to be here. They instilled values and strength in the land and in my blood that whispers on the prairie wind.

Thank you Kristin for being here with us!
