Flor Panichelli , the girl behind sweetbestiary, lives in London but is originally from Argentina, and has a lovely blog, where you can see various images of her work and her creative space

Something lovely: SophieParker

I'm really fascinated by the illustrations and Textile Design of  SophieParker, they have a joy of colors, and her images depict cute animals and daydreaming girls.

In her shop you can find mirrors, stickers, and greeting cards printed with her original illustrations, a truly exceptional work.

something lovely: AtPalicis

I am a big fan of wall decorations, photographs and posters, and these illustrations, from Apalicis are really cute!
I love the pastel colors that she uses in her pictures, make them even more adorable and unique...
I discovered that she also has a wonderful blog, and a Flickr gallery.

Guest this week: FionaDesigns

I want to apologize for the delay, but this has been a busy week! Back to us, I'm happy to have with us here in my blog, a new guest, who is currently also one of my sponsors: FionaDesigns
She makes lovely greetings cards of various colors, perfect for these holidays coming...

1- Tell us something about yourself
As you have probably guessed my name is Fiona. I currently reside in Connecticut, USA with my husband and two dogs. I have always enjoyed art and chose to study Graphic Design and earned an MFA at Parsons in New York City. It was instilled in me at a very young age to write thank you notes and I try to keep up that tradition still today. The love I have of design coupled with that of letter writing led me to design greeting cards.

2- When did you start to create your  delightful greeting cards?
I started designing greetings cards about eight years ago. I was spurred on by the fact that I never found exactly what I was looking for when card shopping. I wanted to create cards that were unique, elegant, simple and reflected my sense of design.

3- Tell us some secret or the creative process:
I tend to write ideas for sayings and layouts on scraps of paper. Then I head to the computer where I experiment with different typefaces and color until I am satisfied with the way the card looks. I do multiple rounds of designs for each card and then choose the one I think fits best. I am constantly coming up with new ideas for both what the card should say and how it should look visually.

4 .What advice would you give to a new seller?

The best advice that I have received regarding etsy is list new items daily, tweak your tags and make sure you have fantastic photos. I personally think that creating treasuries is another way to get yourself out there and it's also a great way to meet others on etsy. Creating treasuries is something I actually love doing!

5. What are your favorite shops or blogs?
I have so many based on a lot of different interests so it's hard to list them all here. I enjoy following blogs that focus on fashion, etsy finds and photography. I like to visit Artessen regularly as it is a network of blogs focused on design.

6- anything else you want to share with us
Follow your heart and make sure that you love what you do and keep creating!

Thank you, Fiona for being here with us!

Guest this week: Eleonora Esposito + Giveaway

I'm so excited to show you today a fantastic illustrator and fashion designer from Italy: Eleonora Esposito
she makes beautiful clothes made by hand, and crochet swimwear, and she has kindly donated to my readers, one of her fashion illustration, "Portrait of a Lady in Turquoise - Art Print Fashion Illustration"
that you can win after this lovely interview:

1- Tell us something about yourself
My name is Eleonora, I was born in Naples where I work and live ! I'm a fashion designer and illustrator, I love to create and to draw  since I was a teenager. I love what I do, it’s my life. I have choose to be a fashion designer, because was inside of me. To create is my way to be happy, that make me feel complete, it’s a work but is especially a big passion.

2- When did you start to create your original clothes? How would you describe your style?I studied fashion since I was 14 years old. Since then I have dedicated my life to the realization of my dream to find my way in the world of fashion. I'm not interested in the frivolous side of fashion, but I would like to be appreciated for my style and my creations. To create is a way to represent myself and my point of view about fashion, this is the reason I decided to create and made on my own a collection of unique and exclusive models. My concept of woman is feminine, sweet, romantic, and sensual. My creations are handled accurately by paying careful attention to detail, both in cuts and shapes. In particular, I try to create clothes that can make a woman feel comfortable, at ease with what she wears, and original all at the same time. Also my illustration reflect my concept of a woman. To made my models I use always high quality fabrics made in Italy.

3- Tell us some secret or the creative process ...
Many people ask me how can I create a dress , and I always said that the dress lives in my mind, I already see it ready to become real. One of the most beautiful thing to be creative is the moment when you got inspiration and you create in your mind and then you draw it, and you made it real. To see the complete work is an incredible moment. To be creative is a way to be, it's inside of you.

4 - Your photos are beautiful, you work with a photographer, or you make them yourself ?
Many of the photos on my shop are made by some photographers that are my friends, and some others are made by me. I love to collaborate with others creative like me, and for this reason I love to see my creations photographed by youngs and talented photographers

5. What are your favorite shops or blogs?
I'm a curious person I love to browse the net, searching for new blogs and shops. I have so many favourite sites! It's impossible to write a list! I use my Twitter account to be updated on my favourite sites. Almost every day I read Style.com ,The Sartorialist, Etsy Storque, and of course I follow many blogs dedicate to the independent designers like this wonderful blog.

6- anything else you want to share with us.
I love the Art Nouveau, Coco Chanel, the 70’s , icons like Audrey Hepburn and I love to make research in the vintage market .I adore the pink color, I use it often for my creations.  My motto is believe in your dreams and in yourself and be humble and always ready to learn.

Guest this week: Zsazsazsu1963 + Giveaway

A new Etsy seller is with us today: Zsazsazsu1963 from Belgium, Europe. She makes unique jewelry with all types of material that she finds during her travels... and she was kind enough to giveaway to my readers a handmade necklace valued at $55, "Les doux et durs Mediterranean sea necklace".
you can participate in the giveaway, right after this interview:

Tell us something about yourself
Hi I am Sandra, 47 and in real life a travelagent.  I got the beadingbug about 5 years ago.  I saw somebody with a very nice (green which is my favorite color) necklace and asked her where she bought it.  She made it herself … I wanted to learn that too, so I started looking for a workshop where I could learn this (crocheting with beads).   The lady in the shop told me she didn’t give workshops anymore but she would explain it to me and I could start.  I thought I would never understand it as it looked much more complicated then it was.  But I started and never ever stopped again with beading.

When did you start to create your original jewelry? How would you describe your style?
To me it’s a challenge to learn techniques, surch for materials and combine all of these in my collection.  I can’t really describe my style as I like too many things, I often take a 360 ° switch to something totally  different.  Now with Les Doux & Durs I think I found my unique style.  A combination of crocheting which is one of the things I like the best with a mix of beads from all around the world.  As for my job I have to travel a lot, it’s nice to be able to bring home beads from every destination.  I like to work with materials that can be recycled such as bike inner tubes (my Tube cuties), beach and riverstones (Stone beauties) which both I reuse in a ring collection.

Tell us some secret or the creative process ...
I have a little notebook in my purse where I can write down my ideas. But most of the time I get the best ideas when I am beading.  Working on one item surrounded by my materials, my eye falls on something and the new idea pops up.  It’s like hopping from one thing to another.

What advice would you give to a new seller?
Don’t get disappointed when you don’t sell.  It’s difficult to be notified between all the others that sell  jewelry on etsy.  List and relist daily, make good pictures and discriptions.  Network all the time.
But this all takes a lot of effort and time.  So make up your mind first if you want this to be a hobby or a business.   If it’s a hobby you will be happy with every sale you make, even if it is only one a month !

What are your favorite shops or blogs?
Well most of the people that have a blog have a shop and vice versa.  I admire one of my teachers, she is the crochetqueen to me : www.nevousinstallezpas.be/blog  incredible what she makes with only one stitch.  I like my daily read at www.artmind-etcetera.blogspot.com , Mitsy has a wonderful blog and I love her ceramic work. I learned to know Juanita from www.juanitatortilla.blogspot.com and I love her sense of humour.

anything else you want to share with us
Wel I give workshops too, but I give them at peoples homes. This is a very nice formula to pass on Knowledge and have fun. It’s like a homebeadingparty. It’s much nicer then a Tupperware evening  ! I like to pass on the beadingbug !

Guest this week: Anna Allen

This shop I am going to show today is a fairy tale! Anna Allen, from the United States, makes some beautiful clothes, made to order, with fabric such as linen or cotton... my favorite is Phoebe Top!  Anna was kind enough to tell us something about her and her adorable shop:

"My name is Anna Allen and I design and sew clothing for women as well as historical reproductions for living historians. I started my business nearly seven years ago with the idea that I would only create historical reproductions from the mid 19th century. I have been researching garment construction from the 19th century for over thirteen years now. A couple years ago I began thinking that I might want to branch out and try something new besides only sewing historical clothing. I decided to teach myself pattern drafting and grading. I discovered it was a lot of work to create a garment totally from scratch, but in the end very rewarding! So I kept at it and opened my new shop selling modern everyday clothing for women. I try to incorporate my love of the past in the styles I create. My goal is to create clothing that is both timeless and made to last."

"You can find me blogging most of the time (although I get busy sewing up a storm, so I am not always a faithful blogger!) over at wildflowers::pretty. I have an Etsy shop which I am planning to slowly take over my Big Cartel shop. And every now and then I'll post on my Tumblr, favorite things, which is where I post things I think are lovely or delicious."

"Thank you Evelyn, for allowing me to introduce myself on your lovely blog!"

Guest this week: Faded Prairie

I came across this wonderful shop, not long ago, and I fell in love immediately! I love all the vintage goods, and these are really beautiful, and breathtaking photos. I'm so happy to have Faded Prairie here as a guest in my blog for you today:

Tell us something about yourself
Hello everyone! My name is Kristin and I'm just a simple prairie girl who has a passion for What Once Was. I'm always on the hunt for anything faded, rusted, worn and forgotten to take home and love.

When you started your business?
I opened a brick and mortar store about three years ago in a little tourist town on the outskirts of my prairie. Soon after that I discovered Etsy and opened a store. I've always dreamed of having my own shop, I experienced a bump in life that made me realize that I don't want to go through life with regrets; I took the plunge and have never looked back.

What advice would you give to a new seller?
One of the most important things I think for a new seller would be to focus on their photographs, it is the only visual a buyer is going to have; make sure you capture their desire through your lens.

What are your favorite shops or blogs?
There are so many amazing shops and blogs out there now, some of my favorites are Old Crow Farm, Old Ohio Farm Finds, Tara's Vintage Kitchen and A Bushel and a Peck on etsy...Kasey {www.kaseybuick.com} is always good for a laugh and inspiration on her site Lola B's, Tracey {www.frenchlarkspur.blogspot.com} with French Larkspur has such a way with decorating you always come away inspired, and my good friend Tara {www.blondiensc.typepad.com} with Blondie N' SC can make you laugh, cry and rejoice all in one blog post, she truly has a way with words.

anything else you want to share with us
I am truly blessed to live and experience life the way I do. I am sixth generation on this little prairie and each day I am reminded of the sacrifice, love, and loss my ancestors went through in order to make it possible for me and my little ones to be here. They instilled values and strength in the land and in my blood that whispers on the prairie wind.

Thank you Kristin for being here with us!

Guest this week: OnePerfectDay + Giveaway

I am so excited today to introduce a new Etsy shop from Athens: OnePerfectDay!  The shop is full of handmade fabric accessories, cuffs, jewelry and bags, and are made mostly with vintage material or one of a kind. Gia, has been kind enough to offer a giveaway, one of her beautiful cuff, you can join right after this interview:

1.Tell us something about yourself
Hi! My name is Gia and I live in beautiful sunny Greece. I'm a serial crafter that cannot be faithful to one medium or style because I've been lucky enough to be exposed to so many since my early childhood.
The up side to this though is that when inspiration flees in one medium, it arrives in another....

2.What is your craft? How did you learn?
I think that my biggest love right now would have to be fabric and sewing. I love to take a flat piece of fabric and to turn it into a three-dimensional object, whether that's a bag, a cuff, an accessory, an item of clothing or any of a million other things-the possibilities are just endless, it's only time that limits our creativity.
I must have picked sewing up while growing up surrounded by women who sewed and crafted. From a young age I remember them always creating something and in all sorts of mediums. It was magical what these women could do with their hands.

3. What advice would you give to a new seller?
My advice to a new seller, or to any seller for that matter, would be to first focus on their items. Make the best you can with the very best materials you can afford. And then focus on the pictures. Shoot the very best you can.
You get a clear idea of how important pictures are when you're searching through the listed items to make a treasury. The ones that don't stand out just don't get clicked on. I've seen magnificent items that you'd easily pass by because there is no effort or artistry in the pictures.
It is true, a picture is worth a thousand words.

4. What are your favorite shops or blogs?
4.There are so many wonderful shops at etsy by so many talented people that it would be realy difficult to make a short list. But since I cannot make a thirty shop list I'll give you five random favourites:

-bullfinchbarbary, for it's enamel bracelets
-ergane for it's gorgeous postage stamp and dictionary jewelry
-sallyent for those fantastic atomic brooches
-laprairie lady for those gorgeous vintage sewing patterns
-zsazsazsu1963 for those unbeliavable 'Les Doux et durs' necklaces

And I'll take five random favourites from the blogs:

-Golden Gems-vintage books (even if it's on hiatus).
-Hyperbole and a half

5. Anything else you want to share with us
My latest fixation is ruffles in all sorts and forms, so my latest series in the shop is -wait for it...-the Ruffle Series! This series has cuffs like the one in the give-away as well as scarves that are also collars or ruffs. They are very versatile as accessories because they can be worn in so many ways and their look changes accordingly.
I'm simply hooked on them and I'm always trying a different colour, a different material, a different style be it more minimal or more extravagant.

and now is the time of the giveaway, but first let me add a clarification: The Cuff that you will receive if you win, is the Almost identical to what you see in the picture. They were, however, not made as a set and therefore may be slightly different. Since Lilac's twin is camera shy ,there have been no pictures taken of it to date.
