Guest this week: OnePerfectDay + Giveaway

I am so excited today to introduce a new Etsy shop from Athens: OnePerfectDay!  The shop is full of handmade fabric accessories, cuffs, jewelry and bags, and are made mostly with vintage material or one of a kind. Gia, has been kind enough to offer a giveaway, one of her beautiful cuff, you can join right after this interview:

1.Tell us something about yourself

Hi! My name is Gia and I live in beautiful sunny Greece. I'm a serial crafter that cannot be faithful to one medium or style because I've been lucky enough to be exposed to so many since my early childhood.
The up side to this though is that when inspiration flees in one medium, it arrives in another....

2.What is your craft? How did you learn?

I think that my biggest love right now would have to be fabric and sewing. I love to take a flat piece of fabric and to turn it into a three-dimensional object, whether that's a bag, a cuff, an accessory, an item of clothing or any of a million other things-the possibilities are just endless, it's only time that limits our creativity.
I must have picked sewing up while growing up surrounded by women who sewed and crafted. From a young age I remember them always creating something and in all sorts of mediums. It was magical what these women could do with their hands.

3. What advice would you give to a new seller?

My advice to a new seller, or to any seller for that matter, would be to first focus on their items. Make the best you can with the very best materials you can afford. And then focus on the pictures. Shoot the very best you can.
You get a clear idea of how important pictures are when you're searching through the listed items to make a treasury. The ones that don't stand out just don't get clicked on. I've seen magnificent items that you'd easily pass by because there is no effort or artistry in the pictures.
It is true, a picture is worth a thousand words.

4. What are your favorite shops or blogs?

4.There are so many wonderful shops at etsy by so many talented people that it would be realy difficult to make a short list. But since I cannot make a thirty shop list I'll give you five random favourites:

-bullfinchbarbary, for it's enamel bracelets
-ergane for it's gorgeous postage stamp and dictionary jewelry

-sallyent for those fantastic atomic brooches

-laprairie lady for those gorgeous vintage sewing patterns

-zsazsazsu1963 for those unbeliavable 'Les Doux et durs' necklaces 

And I'll take five random favourites from the blogs:

-Golden Gems-vintage books (even if it's on hiatus). 

-Bloesem

-Bloesem Kids

-La Touchables bags and things

-Hyperbole and a half

5. Anything else you want to share with us 

My latest fixation is ruffles in all sorts and forms, so my latest series in the shop is -wait for it...-the Ruffle Series! This series has cuffs like the one in the give-away as well as scarves that are also collars or ruffs. They are very versatile as accessories because they can be worn in so many ways and their look changes accordingly.
I'm simply hooked on them and I'm always trying a different colour, a different material, a different style be it more minimal or more extravagant.

They were, however, not made as a set and therefore may be slightly different. Since Lilac's twin is camera shy ,there have been no pictures taken of it to date.
