Guest this week: vadjutka

Probably you already know who I am going to present today! surely you will have already noticed, somewhere on the internet, these colorful and original jewelry from Vadjutka! She comes from Europe precisely from Budapest, and I'm happy to have her here as a guest for you today:

Tell us something about yourself
I am Judit Wild, a Hungarian jewelry designer, and my shop is vadjutka.etsy.com. My brandname – vadjutka – is actually my nickname in Hungarian: Wild means „vad” in Hungarian, and "jutka” is a sweet form of Judit.

How long have you done your craft? How did you learn?
I am designing mixed media jewelry: I use fabric, metal and glass in my designs. I have been doing it since 2002: I started with necklaces with seed beads and lampwork beads, continued with fused glass jewelry, and now I am doing fabric jewelry since 2008, and I am in love with what I am doing now.
I did not learn jewelry making at all: my original occupations are journalist and sociologist, though I had been making jewelry in my early high school years. As I said I did not learn jewelry making at all, but this will change: from September I am going to a silversmith school for 2 years, and I am thrilled about it!

What advice would you give to a new seller?
Well, I could say many things, but based on my experiances two things are vital (well, besides such already known factors like great photos for example):
1) do not give up and be patient
2) try to find your very own style and voice in this crowd in which we are living, because being authentic is what counts in the long run.

What are your favorite shops or blogs?
I really like her blog http://makeundermylife.com – Jess LC is a talented young jewelry designer and also a very inventive, kind and honest personality. She gives a lot of inspiration for my soul and mind.

Thanks Judith, for being here with us!
